Less-than-Truckload (LTL) Freight shipping is the transportation of relatively small freight and normally weight in between 150 lbs to 19,999 lbs. Less-than-Truckload freight does not utilize the full capacity of a semi-trailer, hence the name LTL (Less Than Truckload). LTL shipments share the cargo space of a trailer with other LTL shipments which may be destined to other locations.
